Arsenal have signed their first player of the season, Marouane Chamakh from french side Bordeaux. The 26 year old has been a long term target and they have finally managed to get him to put pen to paper on a long term contract for a free transfer. He signed on a free transfer because he was out of contract with the french club.The Moroccan international made a total of 293 appearances, scoring 79 goals during his eight years with Bordeaux. Last Season he made 46 appearances scoring 16 goals.
Although Chamakh was born and raised in France he plays for the Moroccan national side.
He has made 53 caps, scoring 27 goals.
Maouane has chosen to wear the same shirt number as he did at Bordeaux which is the number 29 shirt.
