Walcott Shines as Arsenal grab an all imprtant win

With Chelsea playing in the FA cup this weekend Arsenal had a chance to move level on points with them. They managed to do that with a 3-1 victory over Burnley at the Emirates.

Arsenal had early chances through lots of players. The first came through Theo Walcott but he fired wide. Eboue and Fabregas were linking up well aswell and a nice give and go between the two almost resulted in a goal but Fabregas fired it across the face of the box.

Arsenal finally got their goal after continuous pressure on the Burnley Defence. A lovely chip from Samir Nasri on 34 minutes found Fabregas on six yards to slot the ball under the legs of Brian Jensen in the Burnley goal.

The score at half time was 1-0 to the Arsenal.

The start of the first half saw Arsenal put Burnley under pressure straight away. A great run from Theo Walcott on the right delivered a lovely ball into the box where Bendtner was ready and waiting for a free header but he missed the target when he should of scored.

Arsenal then came under pressure from Burnley when a Clarke Carlisle header ended up in the feet of David Nugent who put it into the top corner of Manuel Almunia's goal.

1o minutes later on 61 minutes Walcott dashed down the right hand side and then cut inside on to his left foot where he slotted the ball into Brian Jensen's right hand side.

More chances fell to Arsenal but they failed to convert them. A great chance fell to Bendtner on six yards but he put it wide after great work again from Walcott on the right.

Arsenal got their third on 90 minutes after Andrey Arshavin danced through the Burnley defence and then fired into the bottom left hand corner.

Arsenal won 3-1. They stay in third place but 2 points off the pace and level points with Chelsea.
The bad news was Fabregas taken off at half time because of a hamstring injury.
My man of the match goes to Theo Walcott for answering his critics for playing for England at the World Cup in South Africa with a great performance on the right for Arsenal.

I hope Arsenal can go on and win the title to do it for Aaron Ramsey!
